Have you tried Lineage? Richard Gariott has something to do with that but I'm not sure... Lineage is a 2d MMORPG... Good for oldschool gamers with low system req's... =]

GREAT SITE!

Man, I LOVE the Ultima series. Yes, Black Gate was the best, and perhaps the greatest game ever made!

I played a little bit of Serpent's Isle, Pagan, and played UO for a while as well...never tried the mess that was Ultima IX, but friends managed to crawl through it.

They are making Ultima X online which I want to try. I heard they were re-doing the Ultima series to run with XP or something....not sure, I remember they came out with a disc that had Aklabeth (sp) up to Pagan for Windows 9x but you had to run 3rd party programs to slow it down.

Anyways....I was happy to see the old box from it and glad to see you liked it as much as I did. :)

I agree, Ultima VII: Black Gate was great. I actually enjoyed playing UO as well though, for awhile. All in all, most MMORPG's dissapoint me though. Not enough challenge to just battle the programmed monsters, so players must turn on themselves. A game with better storylines, more options, and more intelligently programmed monsters would be fun.

I began playing with my son who at the time was 5 years old. I used those games to introduce him to computers and worked as a bed time story. We played all the way through from 5. When Origin was bought that was the downfall. Ultima I think it was 8 was where he could swim? It was awful. Finally UA on Line and my son played that for a real short time. Too bad they could not continue with the games. Realy enjoyed the underground game as well.

Ultima VII was also my absolute FAVORITE PC games from back in the day! Wish I could get my hands on a copy, and also that my computer would run it. I can't even remember how to run DOS anymore. Sad day...
