this sounds pretty easy to do, put two spinning foam disk things and then drop a ball between them, then it hits them into a tube then out at you :) there is a thing that a old compaq had, that when turned on it pushed a small metal pin that locked the case from being opened when the pc is on. which could hold the balls from being droped intell ready :) maybe $20 or less in parts, and built in a few hours. I may make on of my own :) -t0ny

This could really work. Here is how i would do it:
Get one of those electronic putting return things. I don't know if they are made anymore, but they seems to litter flea markets. They are quite simple. You putt the ball into the device, and it will strike the ball back to you. This could be easily modified to allow a hopper to drop pingpong balls into it (and the putt returning thing would actually throw the ball).

Any luck building one of these. I thought about it earlier and just recently came across this web site. My initial thoughts were to modify a chinese rip off of the american burp gun, however have had trouble getting my hands on the american and the chinese guns in Australia. My other thought was to use PVC piping with a simple off the shelf lip seal. The seal allows the ball to pass once a certain pressure has been achieved. Not certain to go with an air inlet for a compressor, or to use a simple hand pump to supply pressure.

Charge 25 cents per ball.. payable via paypal... then fill the hopper with about 100 of them or so.. I'd pay to blast an un-suspecting person with a ping pong ball.. plus.. it wouldnt hurt too bad... =)

Jackie, I know what you mean, I thought the same way for a while. It can be scary at first to reach out to otrehs, but once you start to meet other like-minded people that quickly become your friends you will wish you had done it sooner. It is always good to get a different opinion or pick someone else’s brain on something you are thinking of doing. I know just by reaching out to otrehs I have built good online friendships with you and Matt and when people ask to talk to me for 30 minutes or so I am more than willing to talk to them and tell them what I know.

Any suggestions on cinomg back from hamstring injury. I seem to be healthy physically but I also seem to have broken my brain. There seems to be a loss of intensity. I am the ultimate running scared right now. After two runs I was convinced that I was going to blow up my hamstring. Tried to just focus op pose running. When I got back home I checked my times and they were about 10-20 sec faster per 600m than two months ago. And I know I can run cause my box had an 800m run as part of a WOD on Tuesday and I was faster than the others without any pain. Frustrated!!! Any thoughts out there?
