User Profile Pictures

* Have all user-submitted images enter a queue for approval by a moderator or admin before showing on the user's profile.
* Force "large" image to 320 x 240 once uploaded.
* Have site create "small" image of required size automatically from user-submitted pics.
(This would happen at the time the image is submitted, and both pics would show if approved.)
* Assuming all this is possible, have this prominent notice in bold red saying:
"All submitted images must be approved before they appear on your profile."
"The site will create a smaller userpic automatically from your uploaded image before being submitted for approval. ALL uploaded images will be resized to 320 x 240, and the results may not look as good with images of other sizes. A 320 x 240 image is hihgly recommended."

I can't force something to 320x240. I can force either the width or height, or I can set the maximum on either one and scale down the other. The only other option is to crop a 320x240 section out of the image. That's also probably not desireable.

Likewise with the 100x100 image, I can't scale that automatically. that image HAS to be a 100x100 since I'm assuming that's the size everywhere I use it.

There has to be a way you can do this. I've been on sites that do it. Heck, I've set up gallery software that uses ImageMagick to do it with all the pictures.
Is it a matter of not having the capability at all, or just not having the time to write the code?

If I try to scale a ... lets say... 100x800 image down to 320x240, you'll get a picture that's 240 high and ... about 25 wide. It won't be particularly useful, and I still don't see why it's an issue anyway. I can see if I had a visitor page theme that required a specific sized image to maintain the format, but at the moment the only theme that required that is theme 1 and that's why we had the mandatory 100x100 images in the first place.
Adding the ability to crop out an image or scale down is trivial, but at the moment unnecessary. I'll add the functionality when I get the image server working.
